About Derek

Hi, I’m Derek! 👋 I started Dinner Endeavor because I love good food – but I don’t love how complicated dinner can feel after a long day.

Some of my best memories come from simple meals shared around the table, and I want to help you create those same moments without all the stress. I’m not a professional chef or food stylist – just a home cook who believes dinner should be easy, practical, and genuinely satisfying.

Outside the kitchen, I run a small digital marketing business, and I’ve spent years working with food brands to help them share their recipes online. That work taught me what home cooks actually need from a recipe: fewer steps, honest cook times, and answers to the questions that come up halfway through. That’s what I try to give you here.

So grab your slow cooker, your skillet, or your favorite cutting board, and let’s make dinnertime easier, together.

How Every Recipe Gets Made Here

Every recipe on Dinner Endeavor is built around one question: will this actually work on a busy Tuesday night?

That means short ingredient lists, stuff you can find at any grocery store, and steps that don’t need special gear. Many of the recipes come from my own kitchen and the meals I grew up with. Others start as classic dinners that I rework to be faster, simpler, or easier to make ahead.

Every recipe is reviewed and refined with care. I check that the ingredient ratios make sense, the steps are realistic, and the cook times match what you’ll see in a normal home oven. If something feels off, I fix it before it goes up. Think of me as your recipe filter, sorting through the noise so you can enjoy tasty, easy dinners that fit your life.

What You’ll Find in Every Recipe

  • Clear amounts and times. No “cook until done” guessing. You get temps, times, and what it should look like when it’s ready.
  • Easy swaps. Out of an ingredient? Most recipes tell you what works instead.
  • Make-ahead and storage tips. Because leftovers are half the point of cooking dinner.
  • Fixes for common problems. If a casserole tends to get watery or chicken tends to dry out, I’ll tell you why and how to stop it.
