Ingredients

  • 1 sheet refrigerated pie crust (from a 14-ounce package)

  • 1/2 cup apple pie filling, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • Caramel sauce, for dipping

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • On a lightly floured surface, unroll the round pie crust. Use a rolling pin to gently reshape it into a rough rectangle, about 9×12 inches.
  • Spread the finely chopped apple pie filling evenly over one half of the rectangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Fold the other half of the crust over the filling to create a rectangle. Press down gently with your hands or a rolling pin to seal the layers together, especially around the edges.
  • Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to slice the filled dough into 1-inch wide strips.
  • Carefully press or pinch the open long edges of each strip to help seal in the filling and prevent leaks during baking.
  • Transfer the strips to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.
  • Brush the tops with melted butter. In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the strips.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
  • Let cool slightly. Serve warm with caramel sauce for dipping.
