Cabbage doesn’t usually make the Thanksgiving cut, but roasting thick slices turns them into something amazing.
The edges get crispy, the inside stays tender, and garlic butter with parmesan takes it over the top.
Easy, cheap, and totally unexpected.
Cabbage Steaks with Garlic Butter & Parmesan

Ingredients
1 medium green cabbage, sliced into 1-inch thick “steaks”
3 tbsp butter, melted
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup grated parmesan
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Mix melted butter with garlic. Brush both sides of cabbage steaks with garlic butter.
- Roast for 20 minutes, flip, sprinkle with parmesan, and roast 15 minutes more until golden and tender.
