Ingredients
4 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
1 tablespoon water
Directions
- Place the sliced apples in the crockpot.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt over the apples. Drizzle with maple syrup and vanilla extract.
- Add the butter pieces on top, then pour in the water to prevent sticking.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and tender.
- Serve warm on its own or over ice cream, pancakes, or yogurt.
