Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts)

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions (for garnish)

Directions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce into the skillet. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then stir into the sauce. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let it simmer for another minute to soak up the flavors.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot with rice and steamed vegetables.
