Easy Shredded Chicken Tacos

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken (rotisserie or homemade)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 8 small tortillas (flour or corn)

  • Diced fresh tomatoes

  • Chopped cilantro

  • Sour cream or crema (optional)

  • Diced red onion (optional)

  • Crumbled queso fresco or shredded cheese (optional)

Directions

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add shredded chicken, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Stir to combine and heat through, about 4–5 minutes.
  • Squeeze in lime juice and stir again.
  • Warm tortillas, then fill with seasoned chicken.
  • Top with tomatoes, cilantro, and any optional extras you like.

Notes

  • Want it saucier? Add a few tablespoons of salsa or taco sauce while heating the chicken.
    Great for leftovers — just use any cooked chicken you’ve got on hand.
