Ingredients
3 cups cooked, shredded chicken
2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth (preferably low sodium)
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup crispy fried onions (optional, for topping)
Directions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Prepare the Cream Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the shredded chicken and fresh green beans to the cream mixture. Stir to ensure the chicken and beans are evenly coated.
- Assemble the Casserole: Pour the chicken and green bean mixture into the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is bubbly.
- Optional Topping: If desired, remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle crispy fried onions on top. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes to allow the onions to crisp.
