French Onion Tater Tot Casserole
Rich caramelized onions in a savory broth with gooey Swiss cheese and crispy tots.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
- 1 (28–32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- In a skillet, melt butter and cook onions with sugar until deep golden (about 15–20 minutes).
- Add broth and Worcestershire, simmer 2–3 minutes.
- Spread into greased 9×13 pan. Sprinkle with ½ cheese.
- Top with tater tots and bake 40 minutes.
- Add remaining cheese and bake 5–10 more minutes.
Tip: Finish with fresh thyme or crispy fried onions for flair.
