Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Italian sausage, casings removed

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup whole-milk ricotta

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella

  • 1/3 cup mini pepperoni

  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper

  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives

  • Fresh basil, for topping

  • Garlic bread slices, breadsticks or crackers, for serving

Directions

  • Heat the oven to 375°F. Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6 to 7 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain.
  • Mix the cream cheese, ricotta, Parmesan, Italian seasoning and garlic powder until smooth. Spread it across the bottom of a 9-inch pie plate or small cast iron skillet.
  • Spoon the marinara over the cheese layer. Scatter the sausage on top, then cover with the mozzarella.
  • Top with the pepperoni, bell pepper and olives.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, add basil and serve.
